The BackBlast:
4 men started the morning with a 6 pack early arrival workout. The pain in our abs was overshadowed by the view. Flat on our backs starring up at a beautiful, clear star filled sky.. A view we haven’t seen in a while. It actually felt a little strange to be dry during a workout. A bright eyed group of guys soon joined us ready for the “Thang”.
THE THANG
The disclaimer was given by YHC. Because of the presence of two FNGs I spent a little extra time explaining what we are trying to accomplish in our workouts and the importance of modifying exercises to prevent injury.
The objective of our workout was explained by YHC. Trying to promote proper running form and the importance of proper running form.
We did a mosey to the fairly impressive incline on the road adjacent to Fairfield Park. It was here that I discussed and demonstrated a up hill running exercise that encourages proper running technique and strengthens muscles essential for proper technique. The PAX was instructed to circle the half mile block and each time they returned to that hill they should run up it at a moderate pace but using the running exercise .
Everyone conquered the hill multiple times and returned to the safety of our shovel flag.
CIRCLE OF TRUST
Prayer for Sissy Bar’s M as well as praises for the miracles he has performed already in that situation. All are looking forward to their return home this week to begin a long recovery.
Prayers also for Tow Bar and his work in the community. God has blessed him with great strength of spirit and has placed him in situations that few of us would dare to confront. I would say that God is using his past, in the present, to change others future!
Prayers for our country as well as our community. Their leadership as well as their citizens. The hope that F3 will be the glue that begins to repair new and past breaks and divisions we see in our community.
Unspoken requests were offered up as well. I have to admit that my heart is troubled by the problems of another person. A problem to which I don’t feel at ease to disclose. It is in the hands of a God that I love and put my faith in that I place these burdens on. He knows the problem well and knows the outcome.
